World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase an item's gear rating up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. They also have a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you get from each point of health you possess therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as possible.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.
Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or in an Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For example splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or decoration that serves a function but is not particularly significant such as a thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. You can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed which allows a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
item upgrading must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should consider the preferred statistics of their class. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
